This is EbenGregory.com…telling you that self-esteem is different than conceit. Conceit is the weirdest disease in the world. It makes everyone sick except the one who has it.

Relaxers are mostly used on children to help their mothers to manage and maintain the childs hair, not to distroy their confidence….wit yo sidity ass! You done got round dem white folks and flipped da damn script Chris Rock!!
Thanks Khannie. For lovin yourself the way God created you.
I grew my hair out natural because my African-American studies posed this question to the class, “How can black women get mad at white women for stealing hair styles when black women walk around with straight hair?”, also my boyfriend pointed this out to me, “Why do black men have curly hair and black women have straight hair?”
It doesn’t make any sense. I wish black people would grow to love their hair. It’s cosmic, that’s why it’s so curly. Our hair is like “springs” and stands up and defies gravity because it flows with the waves of the universe. White people couldn’t handle that and told us to hate our hair.
I am happy and blessed with what God gave me and ignore ignorant black women who give me nasty looks for having natural hair.
Madame C.J Walker invented the straightening comb the perm. To at least help black women to have straighter hair. But I guess that wasnt enough for yall. Also, women that wear weaves and tracks, they make it bad for women who have REAL hair. because since weaves and tracks where invented, women with REAL hair have to get asked that same annoying question: IS THAT YOUR REAL HAIR?. All because their is a such thing as weaves and tracks.
Im glad somebody finally addressed this issue. I dont have a problem with wigs and shit, because somebody could be suffering from that disease ALPESHA, (I dont think I spelled it right). And when you have that disease, it makes your hair fall out. And natually you are not going to want to walk around like that. So wigs are good for them. Also for people whos hair is thinning out.
My problem is with women who dont have a disease, who just want weaves and tracks because they see somebody else with long hair, that is REAL. I mean cant they be happy with what they got? If your hair is short, get a nice short hair style that looks good or even better than somebody with long hair. Like Malinda Williams. She a prime example of somebody who is comfortable with what she got. Her hair is short and beautiful. She always got it done real nice. If it wasnt so much hype around having long hair, Black women wouldnt even pay their hair no mind. And if weaves and track didnt exist, their also wouldnt be any hype about it. Thats black women and their own insecurities about themselves. Im not saying its all of them who wear tracks and weave, Im just saying the majority of them. They keep trying to compare themselves with White and Hispanic women. Im like man, let it go. Respect what was given to you and move on. A lot of that came from slavery and the civil rights era. Where white women was always the picture of beauty. And black women had to just accept it. And generations later that same feeling is in the air.
