Justice Department Looking To Hire Fluent ‘Ebonics’ Translators

First…know that The Department of Justice is seeking to hire linguists fluent in Ebonics to help monitor, translate, and transcribe the secretly recorded conversations of subjects of narcotics investigations, according to federal records. A maximum of nine Ebonics experts will work with the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Atlanta field division, where the linguists, after obtaining a “DEA Sensitive” security clearance, will help investigators decipher the results of “telephonic monitoring of court ordered nonconsensual intercepts, consensual listening devices, and other media.”

And then…
EbenGregory was like…”Ebonics” is listed as a “common language” originating in the United States. Really? Ebonics has widely been described as a nonstandard variant of English spoken largely by African Americans. But…I reject the notion that Ebonics is a dialect, instead I consider it a bastardization of the English language.
This is EbenGregory.com…telling all my Trap Stars in ATL that them people is listening.

Ay ya, nig rite here jus gotto gud J.O.B. work’n fo dem govmint folk.
HOLLA!
WTH?! LMFAO!
Ay Eben why we gotta disrespect our own culture and call it a bastardization of english…Language has changed for many years (We don’t speak old english). Why is it a problem when we change it.
Yo Eben,
Differentiate between Ebonics and Slang
Really? Really?
….I choked immediately when I read the title; I giggled (jive) for 2.2 seconds when I started reading it… I cried on the inside after I finished… My pride as a [black male] as well as my nerves, was tap danced on by this
What!?! Ebonics is still considered a Language!? Why didn’t you post this yesterday before I turned my Resume!!! LOL
Ebonics ….. this so-called language that Blacks in America speak ….. Sounds like they’re trying to hire a snitch!

Now, time for the ‘real talk’. I think that this is crazy. A silver lining though, they only have 9 ‘ebonic speakers’ compared to the 144 spanish linguists. Still very bad though…
hmmm interesting. now how would they be able to tell if you’re “fluent” or not? what is the criteria? how can you be “overqualified”? and if they think someone is a candidate then are they going to “test” them in “the field”? inquiring minds would like to know
