When Rihanna started making some noise about leaving Jay Z’s RocNation last year, everyone thought that it was because Jay Z was forcing her to take a break so all the focus would be on Beyonce’s baby and Beyonce’s new album. Nope.

It was actually because Rihanna didn’t like Jay Z trying to control her love life.

Jay Z had spent several years taking Rihanna’s career to the next level (you might recall that her first big commercial hit was Umbrella with JayZ). He helped to get her away from Chris Brown, get her healthy, and get her career back on track again.

Understandably, when Jay Z found out that Rihanna was creeping around with Chris Brown again, he was furious. he asked her to stop, and she refused. Then she threatened to leave. Reports started popping up that she had fired Jay Z. Lots of arguments and threats back and forth. As of today, she’s still at RocNation, but as long as she insists on seeing Chris Brown, this power struggle isn’t over yet.

An inspector found perishable food at dangerously warm temperatures inside the walk-in refrigerator and discovered “hot” food left out on the counter on Thursday, Health Department sources said. A worker was also seen mixing salsa with his bare hands. The refrigerator was at a rancid 60 degrees instead of 41 — jeopardizing the safety of 50 pounds of raw chicken wings, five pounds of raw shrimp and 100 turkey burgers, the sources said.

Five pounds of cooked mashed potatoes, meanwhile, were left out at a temperature of 89 degrees, while 10 pounds of cooked rice and 50 turkey burgers were kept at 67 degrees. All the hot foods should be at least 140 degrees, the sources said. The club’s restaurant was immediately closed, and new patrons were barred from entering. Those already inside were allowed to remain. “If you have a walk-in place with food like this, you put a hell of a lot of people at risk,” said the source. “A night of dinner and dancing should not include the risk of contracting food-borne illness.”

The nightspot corrected the problem and was cleared for business last night. A night earlier, the hip-hop mogul held an A-list party to reopen the hotspot, which was closed for 10 months for a $10 million makeover. Famous guests included Russell Simmons, Spike Lee, Lance Bass and Warren Buffett.
Ron Berkowitz, a spokesman for the club, insisted there “was no interruption in service or sales.”
However, problems could be looming for 40/40. The inspector gave the club 69 violation points, far in excess of the 28 needed for a worst-possible “C” grade, and they’ll be adjudicated at a hearing next month.

During its last inspection, in March, before the facelift, the club racked up 39 violation points for problems including improperly handled food and unsanitary conditions.

Executive Director Frank Danza is interviewing parents who used his hospital’s birthing center the same time as the singer, he told the Daily News Tuesday in his first interview since the special treatment fiasco erupted.

The News reported Monday, and again Tuesday, that a family from Brooklyn and another from the Bronx were kept from seeing their kids in the neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

“The internal investigation was prompted by my own viewing of the news stories, which had indicated there were more parents, and those parents were in communication and had concerns,” Danza said.

Danza spoke out after a second dad came forward Tuesday claiming Beyonce’s bodyguards had turned the baby ward into her personal nursery.

And he’s denying Beyonce and rap mogul hubby, Jay-Z, paid $1.3 million to rent out an entire floor.

The power couple booked several newly built “executive suites,” paying the standard rate of up to $800 per room per night, he said. He also dismissed reports that Jay-Z financed recently completed renovations.

“The stars really did align for them,” Danza said.

Powermat’s ultimate vision is to make wireless charging ubiquitous, an ecosystem similar to the placement of Wi-Fi hotspots. “You will be able to enjoy wireless power wherever you go, at a coffee shop, restaurant, or airport,” says Ron Rabinowitz, CEO of the joint venture. A very pregnant Beyoncé had checked into the upper East Side hospital on Friday night under the name “Ingrid Jackson,” a hospital staffer told the Daily News.

Beyoncé and her hip-hop hubby, whose real name is Shawn Carter, rented out the hospital’s entire fourth floor for $1.3 million, the employee said.

On Saturday night, people were seen bringing bags of takeout and a dozen bottles of red wine onto the heavily guarded hospital wing.

After 11 p.m., even doctors and nurses were barred from entering the fourth floor, prompting one doc to complain that he had patients to see.

In an effort to keep images from leaking to the public, hospital workers placed tape over security cameras and are forcing employees to turn in cell phones when they arrive for their shifts, a source said.

Several security guards were spotted patrolling the perimeter of the hospital Saturday night.

A Lenox Hill staffer confirmed that a patient named Ingrid Jackson was in a “labor room.”

Reps for the power couple did not return requests for comment.

The 30-year-old singer was last seen Thursday when she was photographed leaving a Manhattan apartment building wearing hip-hugging jeans, gold heels and a patterned scarf masking her belly.
