Though Meek Mill is making big moves on Maybach Music Group nowadays, his future was uncertain after his deal with T.I.’s Grand Hustle Records fell through.

In an interview with Billboard, T.I. explained why the business relationship didn’t last. “After my two hiatuses I was put in a position where I couldn’t really make moves on Meek as quick as he may have wanted to,” explained Tip. “I never been one want to hold anyone back or to slow down the success of anybody. I’m the first to try to enhance what you have and if I can’t make it better than I shouldn’t be a part of it.”

The two are still clearly on good terms, as Tip recently got on Meek Mill’s “Ima Boss” remix.

“I love what he’s done and I love the fact that what I felt he was able to do, people now see. The potential that i saw in him and the things that I thought he was capable of doing it’s been proven to be true.”

T.I. was discussing gay rights with Vibe magazine — an issue he says he supports — and then mentioned Tracy Morgan’s controversial comments earlier this year:

“Man, I will say this, the funniest joke I ever heard Tracy say during a stand-up was, ‘C’mon man, I think gay people are too sensitive. If you can take a d**k, you can take a joke.’ [Cracks up laughing.] That s**t was funny to me. And it’s kind of true.”

Then T.I. unloaded … talking about oversensitivity in the gay community, which he believes betrays the First Amendment which guarantees freedom of speech.

“They’re like,‘If you have an opinion against us, we’re gonna shut you down.’ … That’s not American. If you’re gay you should have the right to be gay in peace, and if you’re against it you should have the right to be against it in peace.”

While the new author has been hitting up media outlets talking about his fiction book, on The Howard Stern Show Tuesday he was talking prison fight.

Thanks to Howard Stern’s prodding, the prison fight that had inmates watching and betting on the rapper sounded a bit over the top. Indicating that the fight took place in an area where the cameras couldn’t see, the prisoners gathered around to watch the punches fly. In fact the way T.I. described it, there were even guards watching.

“Guys from inside, guys from outside,” said T.I. on the show.

While T.I. tried to downplay the event, apparently most of the cellmates were well aware of his stature in the joint while serving his time. Fitting in with the community, it wasn’t just about taking a few punches but showing that there could be a few thrown.

“I mean you make it sound so sensational,” stated T.I. after Stern fired off questions on whether he won or lost.
